when the matrix was released it was, metaphorically speaking, way over my head. i mean, i was barely 14, lived in a sheltered conservative bubble, and had never smoked weed. now looking back, after many a viewing in different stages of life, as i move through a world of humans voluntarily conjoined to device, it has all started to make much more sense in literal fashion. but stories such as these make me question funding - who financially brought these ideas to fruition and what did they know about plans for the future, plans for society. often you can research this and if you know what (or who) you’re looking for you may be left pretty shocked. there are a handful of films/series that make you wonder if we are actually living in a matrix of sorts and who’s in control. some films that have helped enable a greater perspective in my mind are as follows, including documentary material, with or without relation to funding. however, if you want a rabbit hole to go down…. research the umbrella of weinstein films knowing his ties to the likes of epstein, russian and chinese money, and len blavatnik:
