I know not of anywhere else on earth where people have such honor in what they do. From the 711 employee to the tiny bar owner to the michelin star sushi joint sensei, there is so much umph put into everything. During our pitstop in Sapporo, which is a trip in its own, we had dangerous cravings for ramen. There’s a small alleyway in the middle of the madness that is this snowy city with noodle spots at every door. Some, a line wrapped around the corner. Others, a perfect amount of stools to sit right down. Did I think the crowded spots were going to be amazing delicious? Of course. Did I think the less hectic ones were going to suck? Absolutely positively not. I have not had ONE SINGLE BAD MEAL IN TWO MONTHS here. Even the mini-mart food slaps. 10 days in an RV will teach you that.
