I really do feel like Lens Protocol is one of the most interesting things to happen in software in a long time.

What if we could rebuild Facebook, Twitter, & YouTube but without the advertising, surveillance, & evil corporations running the show, with the added benefit of free, public, & stable APIs.

Whether it's Lens or something like it, these types of open protocols that are beyond just DeFi or NFTs to me are the most exciting thing about web3.

100% agree. What if we could rebuild the music industry ? but without the advertising, surveillance, & evil corporations running the show, with the added benefit of free, public, & stable APIs.

I love that the underlying data is open and there’s already so much innovation at the client level with Phaver, Lenster, etc

What excites me the most is that anyone can build and experiment around it.

Twitter can only try out so many ideas. Lens builders will try and create infinite ideas.

It's the Wikipedia vs Encarta moment for Twitter.

It's mad how Elon Musk is paying $44b for Twitter because he wants to build it differently / adjust/view the algorithm. We're able to do this free. Just need to get widespread adoption to break down Twitter's moat after which there's no looking back.

Quick question from a Newbie: How are these on-chain messages being paid for?

You should store the future of Web3 with Akord protocol: akord.com/

One thing I love is that the network is still very small so you have a better chance from seeing this message than on twitter too :) .. for now!

Agree. But I wonder how Lens Protocol generates revenue to support the infrastructure cost?
