gm gm I came across a #spicytake lately: @farcaster and web3 social in general is bad for Ethereum.
The thought process follows sth like everyone is on x but the Ethereum community is not. (they are on farcaster - where nobody else is.)
-> the Ethereum community created a mega bubble of Ethereum people talking to each other exclusively and nobody takes notice.
What do you think?
I can't imagine Ethereum without web3 social. It's inevitable like literally they have to co-exist. 🫶

0doesn’t matter, the wheel is already spinning and it’s spinning everywhere, just take a look here, lot of people very very different between then but all of them using crypto apps for the day to day basis, but not just that, lot of people who are crypto maxis knows we need more than crypto maxis, that’s why i have onboarded several non crypto people here. the wheel its spinning 🔥👺
2I don't see why it would be bad; in general, emerging technologies or concepts are always a bubble. Only time will tell if they will achieve widespread adoption and supplant existing models or not (or be absorbed...). It's only with a community of users that these concepts can be tested and evolve (for better or worse). However, I still believe that inevitably part of blockchain technology will be widely adopted in social apps and others simply because it's technologically better and solves various problems. Therefore, it's better to have a community with solid concepts around decentralization and ownership to drive this forward, whether through adoption or absorption.
3Interesting take! While it's true that niche platforms can create echo chambers, they also foster strong communities. Maybe the challenge is finding a balance between staying connected with the broader world and nurturing our unique spaces. What do you all think? 🤔

2I don’t think it’s a spicy take at all. It’s the truth. Farcaster lacks diversity in content and is not a true “social media”, it’s turned into an eco chamber of eth maxis
4farcaster doesnt persuade you to delete all your accounts on other socials, you can still communicate with other people on x and etc about ethereum. so the problem doesnt exist
