Hey Frens, as you may have noticed some douchebag is bot attacking Phaver today so you may see some weird looking profiles liking stuff while our mods work overtime to remove them from the app. Wanted to take this opportunity to explain why this is not a big problem, though:
- Bots don’t get Cred so they can’t level up, give referral bonuses or stakes nor can they redeem tokens
- We look at post and profile quality based on stakes, not follower counts and unlike Twitter we do not punish you if bots interact with your posts
- This means bots have nothing to gain from all this, they will just be removed from the app and had no upside for their stupid scripts
- This is, however annoying for us real users so we are rolling out even more, both visible and invisible bot protections very soon
