I'm thinking local currencies are a good use case / way to get people to use the infra. We've got a couple in Brussels.
There would be lots of adavantages:
First thing would be making an easy, legit, transparent and generalized way to cash it out into fiat. Getting on-chain stablecoins for your irl product/service is a pain in the arse if you can't swap it to fiat conveniently to cover your taxes, improve your business, or just to live your life.
I think countries that have high inflation like Argentina already have very strong motivations to hold stablecoins. If we can make it more accessible and trustworthy they will use them more.
In places like the US if we had some insured place to deposit them that might help. Americans keep dollars in the bank because it is FDIC insured and easily accessible
we are ready have DAI
now we need services/products that can be buyed with DAI
i would to copy the DAI contract to create the Euro version, who’s down to it?
I don't think "stablecoins" should be more mainstream.
don't forget who makes the 'big ones'like :
tether (bitfinex) & usdc (coinbase).
don't get me wrong i love DAI and imo that's the only real "stablecoin"
tbh next year fiat WILL be the stablecoin lmfao you'll all see 🙈
Seamless not custodial integrations with payment cards (Gnosis Card 👀) and POS/E-Commerce. There must be minimal friction to use it.
By adopting ERC-4337 and letting users pay gas fees with stablecoins.
Companies offering web3 services and products should have crypto payments with stable coins
