Something I miss a lot today is physical photo albums. Any idea how to recreate a similar experience of casually showing pictures to people who visit your house? What do you all use, digital frames?

    • I don't think there's anything give you similar experience, cause physical is physical, other wise is not the same.

In India, digital frames are still a rarity, though they offer a modern and dynamic way to showcase memories. We still cherish our moments through physical photo albums.

We have physical photo albums in or on the coffee table.

                        • There’s some digital frames you can get now that look closer to a printed photo than a display screen. Other than that there’s really nothing like flipping through a stack of printed photos. Get yourself an old mechanical film camera. It’s really a lot of fun.

I use Google Photo Books to print photos around certain big events and have them handy at the crib. They are decent quality and convenient since i use google photos as a repo/backup www.google.com/photos/printing/photo-books/

We went a bit old-school, using Instax Polaroid pictures.

Each one is held by a magnet on the fridge. Guests inevitably gravitate to the fridge for drinks, and every photo tells a story, often serving as a conversation starter.

                              • You can get your photos printed in an album.
But maybe, as @kazi-.lens sort of says: people have seen your photos already, so maybe there's another thing to do when you have people over.

I still have bundles of thos tucked away somewhere in the house. the feel was just magical. As you flipped through pages showing your guest photos from trips and events, those memories came rushing back and you could actually feel the connection!

Don't think digital frames can replicate that feeling though. Plus with social media and digital photos, friends and guests are also not as keen as before to swipe through your memories. They've seen it all on Facebook alread, right?

I miss the film camera days...👴

We’re in the middle of doing some home renovations and brought all the photo albums back out just last weekend. It’s been so nice looking through them so I know exactly what you’re feeling. I’m not sure how we would. Digital doesn’t feel the same haha.
