Some folks have been always asking how to be productive and here are some tips from me

  1. Try to avoid calls, especially in the morning
  2. Record Looms instead of calls because its more easier way to follow
  3. Avoid 1 hour calls, keep them max 30 min or even 15 min (have always agenda)
  4. Document as much as possible and have others to review docs
  5. Avoid making decision on spot - give time and do async

Everyone's time is precious. Time spent unwisely means you have less time to hang in Lens 🌿

Being practicing 2. for a few years now- the best thing ever.

Also worth it in some cases: instead of writing a long confusing email, do a quick screen share record. (Or complement with it)

Thanks for sharing! This is a very good and pretty exhaustive list! I also like to plan my day ahead and group certain activities together. I often enter flow state while programming and last thing I want is waking up for another meeting.

Thanks for sharing! #2 is a big discovery for me, will def start using.

Couple more recommendations from my side:

                          1. Send pre-read documents
                          2. Don’t mix content and process in a meeting (ie no deep dive in the content when discussing planning)
                          3. Use Vowel for videoconference where heavy notes need to be taken, it has an accurate transcript feature, no need to take notes like crazy.
                          4. Eat less often (not less!). Will not only save you time, but also will make you love longer and younger (cf David Sinclair podcasts on this) - oh it will also make you save more and destroy less the planet.
                          5. Take calls while walking.
                          6. Use Fiverr or other freelance platform for a lot of random tasks eg looking for the cheapest flights to go from A to B to C.
