if you’ve been collecting my daily drops, i am profoundly grateful. the first 40 days are near completion, and later today, i will be releasing my 37th daily drop. this means i’ve been on lens every day and night for almost two months, releasing music that i created entirely by myself.
i will stop the daily music drops after day 40, as this experiment is part of something bigger on my journey. however, this doesn’t mean i won’t be releasing music here anymore; instead, the curation will meet higher standards on my end.
i started these releases because, for two years, i was building an event named pwr2tp.mx (power 2 the people) with partners who ultimately lacked the understanding, skills, and vision to make the kind of event i envisioned a reality. i gifted them all of my ideas—the event was designed to gather 10,000 individuals in mexico, primarily students, in a space where pop culture meets blockchain and other technologies.
unfortunately, my partners began associating with people who weren’t the best of the best—individuals with shady backgrounds, scammers, grifters, and so-called "builders" who are nothing more than fake “influencers” influencing no one, and building nothing, despite claiming otherwise. it became a total circus.
i stepped down as the founding partner and gave them all my ideas on paper with no questions asked. this included concepts like a hackathon, an nft gallery, experimental experiences, and an on-chain quest for real-life tokens.
this last idea—the on-chain quest—is actually the core of my business venture, @vibecluv, which was engineered way before the power event even existed. vibecluv was later adapted to fit the event, but its purpose has always been clear: to onboard thousands of people into web3 through expanded phygital [irl + web3] experiences at concerts, events, clubs and music festivals. [i’ll disclose more about this soon.]
i have experience creating cool web3 events with amazing, talented people, like @oyealmond [a truly talented leader i deeply respect and admire], where we executed a small-scale event called nfts and frens. later, i organized events like nft global gallery, even booked friendly fires for an afterparty. i’ve also curated nft galleries at music festivals, nightclubs, parties, and events in mexico as well as places like miami art basel 2021/2022 and miami music week 2021–2023.
in 2022, i launched the first-ever public, open nft gallery in mexico—a concept where people could experience the art simply by walking by the street, day or night. for that one, i took over a boutique on álvaro obregón cdmx, for an entire week, displaying the gallery on the streets instead of inside a building. it wasn’t designed to be a one-time happening but a curated art experience in the heart of colonia roma. it was a concept never done before in the city at the time, created while collaborating with brands like xx lagger, chivas regal, warner bros, fashion magazines, and other top-tier names, what i do is always a mix of web2+web3+traditional+new, instead of choosing just one team.
i rarely talk about this unless i’m doing business, but tonight, i feel the desire to express myself. the daily drops started because the last two years felt like a total scam in my life building that "project", and while i don’t care now about the outcome of the pwr2tp event, it’s important for me to express who really built that foundation.
the people continuing the project will profit from my ideas, and that’s fine because i chose for it to be that way when i stepped away. for me, it’s natural to always create something bigger, better, and more impactful than the ideas i gift away.
i’ve been thinking about what’s next and am ready to move forward on my own terms. i’m accustomed to doing things never done before all the fucking time, for the misfits, for the wolves, not the masses.
this music challenge has been a deeply insightful project to regain confidence in myself, my creative output, and my skills. it became a playground to overcome the months wasted with people who did nothing but leech off me and my expertise. i even had to cut ties with a so-called “friend” who turned out to be hypocritical, saying only what i wanted to hear while behaving differently behind my back. even so, i wish him blessings—truly.
anyway, it was important for me to share this because i had approached some web3 people months ago, pitching that event and trying to secure sponsorship deals. afterward, there was nothing but silence, as nothing was resolved—all because of the chaos inside the organization. the funding wasn’t secured, workers weren’t paid on time, and deadlines were never met. everything was improvised, even when there was a carefully designed plan in place that i made.
this chapter has been a learning experience, and these 40 days of music drops symbolize my reclaiming of creativity and independence from a toxic period. thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, and thank you for reading this ❤️🔥🫶🏻
here’s a glimpse of some of my past work at the coolest events in mexico city—a mix of artists, creators, rebels, and misfits. truly the coolest people in town, every time 😎.
ps: i’m gearing up to take over at soho house with a new roadmap of incredible experiences and events. i’ve got tulum lined up for the 2025 season, miami music week in march, and ibiza in may for @vibecluv. i’m also open to collaborating globally to build the coolest experiences—from pop-up art galleries to fashion, concerts and festivals
the time is fucking now 🙌🏻🔥
