The oldest cookbook to survive in its entirety is “De Re Culinaria”, meaning ‘On the Subject of Cooking’, which was probably written in 1st Century CE, by a Roman merchant and food lover named Marcus Gavius Apicius, though oldest surviving copy comes from end of Empire sometime in 5th Century CE.
