Which toxic behavior have been normalized by society πŸ—£οΈ

I think it's quite strange that they expect women to be perfect πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

There's a certain perception of beauty, and those who don't fit it are ostracized. They also expect women to be able to do many things at the same time and be successful. For example, be a good mother, be a businesswoman, cook at home, take care of her husband.... and the list goes on.

What do you guys think πŸ‘€

That's a good topic worth discussion. It depends on the society,Irem. In South part of India where I am from ,the concept of dowry is much prevalent.Just in case you have not heard of it,it's a practice of transferring money, property, gold etc from bride's family to groom's family for getting the bride married. The most disgusting part is that in many cases, the amount of dowry is the deciding factor whether the marriage will be finalized or not.

Agree with you! Also different toxic behavior in society πŸ‘‡οΈ
People willingly sacrifice all aspects of their children's privacy on social media just for attention or money. Another toxic thing is working for years for retiring at 60 years old and to buy a house πŸ˜•

Absolutely agree with you. Society, which is mainly the mainstream opinion, shouldn't dictate what's right or wrong, nor how we should feel or what we should become. In fact, the most interesting people I've met where those who escaped societal boundaries.

It's not just women though. Men also deal with societal pressures. They're expected to be tough, successful – almost like they're 'success objects'. To make matters worse, from a young age, boy are taught that some of their feelings are wrong (e.g. Sadness, Fear etc.), because it equates to weakness and 'not being a real man'. So if you are a boy and you feel like that, then there must be something wrong with you. This can lead to emotional isolation and having the feeling that you always have to make it on your own, because even amongst other men you might get judged.

Society is fucked up. Every person should find their own values and live accordingly, no matter what others think about it.

There is not a single trait that I have picked up from society, that hasn't set me on a path to anxiety.

"If you're not doing something in your twenties (like traveling abroad, starting a master's degree, getting married, etc.), you haven't really lived your life." We used to hear these words mostly from our grandparents, but now it has become a common sentiment among everyone, even causing anxiety about the future in individuals as young as 18.
