Don鈥檛 wanna bother the group chat with this but I have no one to share it with so I鈥檒l shout to the abyss on-chain:
I just got the best performance review of my life (I鈥檝e only had 3 lol). But I felt completely numb to it. Partially because I don鈥檛 care. Partially because I wanna be doing more. Partially because I鈥檓 on the market for another role鈥inda鈥orta.
But the one thing that did make me happy was that my leadership with my team was recognized. The company鈥檚 culture is challenging, so I said when I built my team I would build a better culture amongst us and hopefully we鈥檒l rub off on everybody else.
Fast forward maybe 9 months later and I鈥檓 told that not only are people taking notice, but some people are jealous.
I鈥檓 not happy that they鈥檙e jealous. But I am happy that people are taking notice and that I鈥檓 kinda succeeding on my mission.
My philosophy isn鈥檛 really in line with Western culture as it pertains to work.
I don鈥檛 believe a job is just a job. I believe that you spend more time at work, commuting to work, and thinking about work than you do at home with your family if you have one. So a job can鈥檛 just be a job because it consumes most of your waking hours. So it is my belief that nobody should hate what they do. You should find joy, if not fulfillment from it. In a perfect world I guess.
I just try to make the world as perfect as possible for the people I鈥檓 connected with by that context.
Hunters and gatherers worked to live. They didn鈥檛 live to work. So we should learn from them 馃し馃従鈾傦笍.
