Just to add an anecdote - As a kid, one of the coaches gave us a tip to play FOR the team before showing how skillful you are on the ball - makes the football in general and winning way more fun for everyone. and even when one loses, its taken up as a team instead of pointing faults.
I suggest you watch the paris sangerman games and learn the basics of the game. This way you will fall in love with the game and learn it on the best example nowadays, you can also watch classics like the Catalan derby.
