Time for a proper intro 🔊 I'm Helfetica aka Gabriela – an editor, curator, writer, radio host, DJ, science geek – and my life’s greatest passion is the way music moves people.

In early years, it consisted of me proclaiming: “check out this artist, that song, those labels – trust me!” to anyone who would listen. At the time, this was mainly my unwilling parents and sister. Everyone’s got to start somewhere…

In later years, it has evolved into how the symbiosis of creativity, tech, and culture can make you catch your breath and inhale deep.

Each nanosecond oscillates to the sound of its own song, sometimes you just need the right person to find it.  I am compelled by discovering music in anything, anywhere.



In one moment, I’ll champion a Japanese wristwatch jingle, featuring zen environmental recordings to lull you into serenity. In another, I’ll uncover the latest tune by a breaking UK jungle producer, which will gleefully singe your eyebrows off. Next, I’ll figure out how to seamlessly combine these worlds. 

Forever inspired by the global communities that sound galvanises, I'm driven by building an equitable future for the music industry, one that truly represents its international diversity and cultures.
