have you every noticed how americans only refer to our country as “the US” but everyone else says “America”

“I’m headed back to the US next week”

vs

“I’m traveling to America next week”

    Oh yeah. Actually this wasn’t nearly as common before 2001.

    I mean, some people did, but not like it is now.

    I try to refer to it as “The Colonies,”
