We arrived in Cancún on the 31st of December at 9PM in the evening.
The first order of business was to take the car and get away from the city as far as possible 😅

@lauraz and I are both solid party poopers, so Cancún seemed to us as the epitome of what we don’t like.

Mérida, on the other hand, turned out to be just the right place for us: great food, lots of culture (strongly influenced by the Spanish though), walkable, safe, and filled with many kind people 👌
